JANUARY 6, 2024

Hello to all!

Hopefully this finds everyone in good spirits! The Holidays are over for another year, (thank goodness)! Now it's on to a new year, 2024, will be our best yet!

Just want to remind everyone that this weekend is the PCSA festive weekend. Today is the Annual Memorial honoring those who have gone before us and tomorrow is the Annual Banquet and Ball at the clubrooms in Upland. This year we are celebrating Drew Budimir's year as President of PCSA.

A note from our Show Folk's 2023 President, Tina Johnston. We are going to have a fun raffle at our banquet next weekend. At the Banquet next Saturday, January 13, 2024 at Wine & Roses in Lodi, Ca. you will purchase tickets for the raffle at the registration table during cocktail hour. When you enter the banquet room, the prizes will be laid out on a table with a container to drop your tickets into for the prize you hope to win. The more tickets you put in the jars of your choice, the better your chances of winning. I am told that there will be some awsome prizes, among them will be: A JERSEY SIGNED BY 49ER'S PLAYER BRANDON AIYUK AND A TIFFANY'S BRACELET, along with a lot of other great prizes! So be sure to bring your cash to buy lots of tickets (cards will not be accepted)!

Have fun and be safe!

Hello Showfolks!

Last weekend, Friday November 19, 2022, Saturday November 19,2022 and Sunday November 20, 2022 was our club”s big annual weekend!

The festivities began at the Showmen’s Rest at Olivet Cemetary in Colma, Daly City on Friday. Our annual memorial honoring and remembering those who have gone before us was officiated by our Chaplain, Ron Quint. Ron did a great job and he and his wife, Past President, Tami Quint brought donuts and coffee for all who attended. Thank you for your thoughtfullness, it was greatly appreciated!

Saturday night was the Annual Banquet and Ball. President Matt Payne and his wife, Vanessa did a wonderful job! Decorations were beautiful and the food was great! I’m told the venue was gorgeous and although there was snow on the ground, the roads were clear and everyone had a great time!

The winner of the $5,000 vacation to the destination of choice was Kelley Butler! She also won the beautiful Corn Hole game that was made by Mike Davisson.

Project winner tickets were:

First prize, Harry Mason sold by Harry Mason

Second prize was Jennifer Flores sold by Incoming President, Tina Johnston

Third prize was Eva Mason sold by Harry Mason

Sunday morning was the Installation of 2023 officers. I’m told that John MacCallum did an amazing job of swearing in our officers.

Tina Johnston is our New President

Michael Dempsey is First Vice

Jill Moyer is Second Vice

Shari Davis is Third Vice

Marta Quinn is Treasurer

Linda Davisson is Recording Secretary

Sally McClain is Corresponding Secretary

Congratulations to all the ladies!

August notes

Hello to all!

I hope this finds everyone busy making smiles and lots of scratch! Past President, Linda Davisson has requested that I reach out and implore members to please take a few moments and send her your pictures and what you want to say and she will start designing pages for the yearbook. I know you are all busy at this time of year but our B & B is November 19 this year and so our time is short to get the book put together if we are to have it finished in time for the Banquet. She says nobody has gone on the site to work on pages and she is getting concerned. Linda is no longer out so she is home with time to work on it but she needs you to send her what you want!

Her contact info is as follows:

mldavisson1952@yahoo.com

209-351-0612

Here is the Banquet and Ball info straight from President Matt Payne:

The code for the discount is NTL111922SHOWFS. The room must be booked before October 19th 2022 to receive the Showfolks discount."

It is with heavy heart I tell you that First vice president Michael Dempsy recently lost her daughter. I don't know the details but please keep Michael and the family in your thoughts and prayers. They have suffered a loss few of us can imagine.

Take care and be safe out there!

HELLO (6/27/2022)

Hello Showfolks!

I hope this finds everyone making lots of money and in good health! I know we are all very busy this time of year, but we need to start thinking about Yearbook pages. Linda
Davisson is working on pages as I write this. The book is going to be a 2020, 2021, 2022 book. Combining all three years. It should prove to be a big book. I know we have lost too many in the last 3 years so just memorial pages alone will be huge!

You can log in yourself and design your own pages or you can send to Linda what you want, and she will design a page for you. Pages will once again be $100 each.

Good news! I just heard from President Matt Payne and he tells me that the venue for the Banquet and Ball is secured. It will be held on November 19, 2022 at Tenaya lodge in Fish Camp, Ca. (just outside of Yosemite) Cocktails will be from 6 pm until 7 pm, dinner is from 7 pm until 9 pm with dancing to follow from 9 pm until midnight. So mark your calendars and make plans. I will send out hotel info as soon as it is available. Matt says there will be a block of rooms for us.

Our Treasurer, Marta Quinn is getting dues envelopes ready to mail out, so watch your mailbox for those. We had dues suspended for 2020 and 2021, so please pay your dues for 2022 and she will be sending envelopes out again in January for 2023.

Please keep Andrea Jewell in your thoughts and prayers as she fights cancer and also Gena Tuttle is recuperating from a knee replacement.

I also heard that Tina and Gordy are having some sort of health issues. We love them all and we need to keep them in our thoughts and prayers!!

Meeting correction

I am so sorry for the inconvenience but the meeting on February 1, 2022 will actually be the Installation of 2022 officers. They had the Installation for our sister club, Pacific Showmens Association's 2022 officers but did not do Show Folks on January 11, 2022 in LA.

Dinner is still a catered affair starting at 6 pm and the Installation of our 2022 officers will follow dinner.

Please still bring a yummy dessert and a raffle prize or 2.

If you have not already done so, please RSVP so we can get an accurate head count for the caterer.

Again, I apologize for the mis-communication!

Our next meeting is scheduled for Tuesday February 1, 2022 at the Lodi Fairgrounds.

Board meeting at 5 pm

December meeting

Hello Show Folks members!

I am so sorry for the confusion with my last email. Apparently, some of our members were confused by it. Let me explain. My last email was a newsletter written by PCSA President and Past Show Folks President, Kelley Butler.

Her wife, Gena Tuttle is our current President and incoming PCSA president. They are combining our annual festivities. Kelley's newsletter included the information on the combined Banquet and Ball, Installation and Memorial. She asked me to forward to our members so all would get that important information. The December 7 meeting mentioned in her letter is being held at PCSA clubrooms in Upland, Ca.

Show Folks December meeting will be held in Lodi at the fairgrounds on Monday, December 13, 2021.

Board Meeting at 5 pm

Dinner at 6 pm

General Meeting at 7 pm

Please bring a gift (spend $30 maximum) for a gift exchange. Bring a gift to be included in the exchange.

Bring a dessert and a raffle prize or two.

I hope this clears up any misunderstandings my last letter caused. If you have questions, feel free to contact me or check out the Show Folks of Ameria website.

Happy Thanksgiving!

NOVEMBER/DECEMBER PCSA NEWS

                                                                                NOV/DEC 2021 Newsletter

Hello Club Members,

What a difference a year makes. Last year at this time, there was little hope on when we could go out and make our livings, or go to a restaurant, or a simple visit to our families. Things are slowly going back to normal-maybe a new normal but that’s OK. 2021 was a crazy busy and exhausting year for our Industry as we tried to figure a different way to operate. Looking back, remember that no matter how bleak life seems, it does turn around and in time gets better.

We just had our Nov. meeting. Thanks so much to all who attended and helped make the night and meeting a fun and productive one. Bills are being paid and checks are being deposited.

The next meeting will be on DEC 7TH. It will be our Annual meeting. We will be putting together a nominating committee to select our incoming officers. The meeting will be Christmas themed, so bring a present or two. We will do a x-mas exchange, so if you don’t like the one you opened you can steal someone else’s.  Debby Helm didn’t screen my call so she will be providing the food and helping with the decorations. 😉 Hope to see many members there and bring a friend so we can sign up some new members!

I have dates and info for the upcoming Banquet & Ball -Memorial and Installation. Please message me or Shari Davis if you have someone in our industry that you would like mentioned and honored at the memorial service.  The Henon Family will be attending to honor our fellow giant in our industry, Ron Henon.  Bring along some stories to share, it’s nice to hear and honor our showfolks who left us too soon.              UPCOMING DATES TO REMEMBER
